January, May, and June were my heaviest reading months. I tend to start with strong Januarys. “New Year Resolutions” and all that. In May and June, I finished teaching and started summer break, which opened many hours for reading. But, as I settled into the fall and the new school year, my reading goals really took a beating. I did enjoy almost everything I read, and even had a few books on the list that surprised me.

This year, I am once again pledging to read 40 books. I read 40 in 2021 and 2019. I got close in 2022, so I think I can do it in 2023. I can’t wait to see what books make the list this year.
